New Caisse d’Epargne headquarters of Aquitaine Poitou-Charentes
Located on one of the banks of the Garonne river, the new headquarters enhances Bordeaux’s urban space and heritage around the Paludate dock.
The volume unity reinforces its image of solidity. Strata, folds, intervals and faults animate its façades and convey a contemporary aesthetic on a human scale.
The project aims to take advantage of the site and its orientation to reduce the need of all energy uses. The compact design of the building minimizes heat loss; its transparency helps reducing lighting consumption and solar protections are part of an eco-design approach. This passive approach optimizes the functioning of the positive energy building.
