Construction of a building of 90 apartments

The housing structure of islet 02-C is included in the redevelopment of Port Marianne Parc Marianne area. The building is arranged in terraces which open widely onto Marian Park, thanks to balconies and loggias. The spaces remaining on the interior of the structure facilitate the layout garden.

The front wall volume is made up of distinct elements. The great concrete base generates a link between the buildings within the area, which includes retail outlets and dwellings. The main part of the building, laid on the concrete base, alters the lines of the walls because of the different levels set back from it. On the upper floors, the attic area is marked by a dormer window abutting from the roof, emphasizing the pleasing irregularity of the whole. On the roof, a rough-cut terrace system creates large spaces on the balconies, and opens views onto the Park. This also optimizes the well-lit nature of the spaces, a special privilege for the tenants.

The framework of the whole structure highlights the green spaces, thus adapting to its natural environment. This means exercising a certain ‘environmental awareness’ at all phases of development. After being correctly aligned, the front walls will be finished in light ochre concrete, brown or off-white coatings of paint in the recessed spaces, and wooden external cladding on the upper boxes.
